WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN NORTHWEST WAGE AND HOUR INFORMATION SERVICES?

Membership in Northwest Wage & Hour Information Services (NWWH) provides electric and natural gas utility management with labor relations and related human resources information. Using survey data, individual utility contacts, Internet based discussion groups, an Internet Web site, roundtable discussions and an annual workshop, this service provides reports to member utilities about negotiated collective bargaining agreement settlements including wages, benefits and other conditions of employment including work rules. Membership is restricted to members of management only and all information exchanged is treated in a highly confidential and secure manner.

NWWH Information Services tracks and reports changes in the Consumer Price Index, as well as significant labor arbitration and court decisions. Roundtable meetings and workshops present opportunities for utility management representatives to share concerns and issues in order to keep abreast of labor relations developments in the industry, as well as across the nation.

The NWWH Information Service membership operates on the premise that knowledge is power and that such power enables utility management to deal effectively with reorruring as well as emerging labor relations issues, thus contributing to the stability of labor-management relationships.

The annual Membership fee of $620.00 provides the participating utility with the following opportunities:

  1. Monthly Labor Relations Report containing brief news summaries of issues impacting the labor relations and human resources aspects of a utility. It also includes a tracking of the CPI and selected negotiated wage rates.
  2. Five to six Roundtable discussions each year where you can share labor relations issues, concerns and developments with a group of your peers from other utilities throughout the Northwest.
  3. Annual Workshop and pre-workshop training which allows you to stay up to date on what is happening in the labor relations and human resources areas.
  4. Annual publication entitled the "Bargaining Brief" which provides a host of statistical information about wages, benefits and work rules for utilities in the Northwest.
  5. Access to the "Members Only" section of this Web site which has information on contracts, arbitrations, newsletters, and other items of interest to the labor relations professional.
  6. NWWH e-mail lists which allow you to efficiently communicate with your counterparts in other utilities.
